Draft 2040 Small Area Forecast Seeking Public Comment

The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) has released a draft 2040 Small Area Forecast. This Forecast is a component of the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan and forecasts future locations of population and employment. The draft document and review materials are available online at http://www.ppacg.org/library/Transportation/Small-Area-Forecast-Task-Force/.  As part of the development of its long-range transportation plan, PPACG performs this growth allocation process to produce future traffic demand projections for the region’s transportation system and to prepare other components of the multi-modal Regional Transportation Plan which allocates billions of dollars in transportation investments in the Pikes Peak region. As a state-designated Metropolitan Planning Organization, PPACG is required by federal law to update its regional transportation plan and growth allocation forecast at least every four years.

The public is invited to comment on the forecast at an open house on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 4-7 pm at PPACG office at 14 South Chestnut St, Colorado Springs. Comments may be submitted in person, by e-mail (elindsey@ppacg.org), and/or by mail.  Deadline for public input is December 16, 2013.
