Teller County Birth and Death records cover Cripple Creek, Elkton, Anaconda, Lawrence, Florissant, Gillette, Goldfield, Victor, Divide, Woodland Park and some areas of Green Mountain Falls. Birth and Death records were not required in Colorado until 1910 but some records are available as early as 1876.

From 1910 to the present, birth certificates for any Colorado county may be obtained through this office.

Death certificates are only available in the county of death. All requests must be handled though the Clerk & Recorder's Office in Cripple Creek.

The cost of a birth certificate is $17.75.  Additional certificates ordered at the same time will be $10.00 each.  All requests must be submitted with this application:

Along with the completed application, a copy of identification must be included.

* Effective January 1, 2007, proof of your relationship or direct and tangible interest is required. Applicants must submit proof of their relationship or documentation to establish their legal interest in obtaining vital records.  Examples of documents that can be used to prove relationship are birth certificates, marriage certificates, certified court orders or insurance policies.
