Child Welfare-
Child Welfare Services are programs and service interventions that strengthen the
ability of families to protect and care for their own children, minimize further harm to maltreated
children and youth, and ensure permanency for children who cannot return home.
The goal is to protect children from harm, to stabilize the family situation, and to strengthen the parents/guardians
ability to safely care for their children. Interventions are guided by respect for the family's integrity, knowledge of
the legal base for action, and sound social work practice.
