Teller County applications are available at the Teller County Human Resource Office, 112 North A Street, P.O. Box 959, Cripple Creek, 80813, or by clicking on the above link “Job Application Form”. This form can be printed and submitted using the instructions below.
• Applications that are not completed clearly and/or are not signed and dated may not receive consideration.
• Applications will be kept for a period of one (1) year from the date application is received.
• During that one year period an applicant can call Human Resources at (719) 689-2988, or email Human Resources and ask that their application be included for consideration for the desired open position.
• The County will not be responsible for applications left in other County offices with the understanding that they will be forwarded to the HR office.

Job Description: Teller County is accepting applications for a Detention Officer/Deputy. Responsible for performing duties related to enforce Federal, State and County laws and ordinances in conjunction with processing and care of prisoners; process inmates into and on release from the jail; monitor and respond to inmate and staff needs; work in control room and control alarms and access to and from the jail and inmates; and observe inmates in cells and wards and staff in jail. The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude which includes the following: interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers, responding politely to customers, delivering customer service, working as a team member, functioning under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision. Requirements: Applicant must be in excellent physical condition to lift and carry 100 pounds; move and/or restrain a person(s). Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or GED plus some experience involving public contact. Must be CPR and basic first aid certified or have the ability to become certified within 6 months of employment. Certification as a Police Officer by the state of Colorado is desirable, but not required.

Job Description: Teller County is accepting applications for Post Certified Deputy's. The Deputy Sheriff performs duties related to the enforcement of federal, state and county laws and ordinances, protection of life and property and public assistance. Duties include patrol, investigation, detentions, or special assignments. Enforce all laws of the state of Colorado. Answer service calls and take appropriate action on those calls. Patrol county to detect illegal actions or activity and to insure the security and safety of businesses, homes and other properties within his/her area of responsibility. Responsible for the care and security of all prisoners including inmates assigned to the Detention facility who are lawfully in the custody of the Sheriff. Job Description: Teller County is accepting applications for a full-time Traffic Technician II for the Department of Public Works; Division of Transportation. The Traffic Technician II is responsible for managing, providing for, and ensuring, that all traffic control devices installed on County roadways are Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) compliant to ensure safe and orderly movement of traffic throughout the County Road system. Must be able to lift and carry eighty (80) pounds. Must be able to use a shovel and hand tools; be able to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. Requirements: High school diploma or GED plus three (3) years work related experience, at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements: Possession of a valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License with a class B endorsement or the ability to obtain within eighteen (18) months from date of hire; possession of certification as a work site Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) in the State of Colorado or the ability to obtain certification within 2000 hours of employment, possession of a flagger certification in the State of Colorado or the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
