Teller County applications are available at the Teller County Human Resource Office, 112 North A Street, P.O. Box 959, Cripple Creek, 80813, or by clicking on the above link “Job Application Form”. This form can be printed and submitted using the instructions below.

    • Applications that are not completed clearly and/or are not signed and dated may not receive consideration.
    • Applications will be kept for a period of one (1) year from the date application is received.
    • During that one year period an applicant can call Human Resources at (719) 689-2988, or email Human Resources and ask that their application be included
       for consideration for the desired open position.
    • The County will not be responsible for applications left in other County offices with the understanding that they will be forwarded to the HR office.

listed address or in person to the above listed address.

Job Description: Teller County seeks a Social Caseworker III-Intake for the Department of Social Services. A Social Caseworker III-Intake provides initial response and child protection, Youth in Conflict and/or Adult Protection services; provides crisis assessments and intervention; supervises placement of children out of home; involvement with Courts and other community agencies and professionals. Must have working knowledge of principles, practices and protocols regarding Child Welfare and Youth in Conflict, and/or Adult Protection; knowledge of the Children’s Code of State Statutes, Teller County Social Services policies and court procedures; working knowledge of child development, abuse, mental illness and family systems; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to quickly and independently arrive at logical, sound conclusions and decisions. Must be flexible in work schedule and be able to cover on call duties. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in field of Social Work or human behavioral science field plus two years of full-time professional social casework experience including one year at full journey level work or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree is desirable. Successful completion of Colorado Child Welfare Training Academy required, ability to pass all background checks (CBI, FBI etc.), ability to pass a urinalysis test prior to employment and must have a valid CO driver’s license.

Job Description: Teller County is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Planner responsible for the review and processing of land use requests/applications for submittal to various Boards and assisting the Division Director in providing short and long range planning functions and other planning matters for Teller County, State and Federal departments, agencies, regional councils, municipalities, special districts, residents, businesses and professional organizations. Will attend meetings, prepare reports, and review existing land use regulations. Also develops amendments based on information provided by the Planning Commission, staff, public, statutory requirements, and new legislation. Must have the ability to demonstrate a theoretical and practical understanding of land use issues, modern planning practices and a substantive knowledge of Colorado Statutes relative to planning as well as other state and federal land use laws, typical development regulations governing zoning, subdivisions, flood-plain management, infrastructure development, knowledge of planning case law and has excellent problem solving, project management, and time management skills; knowledge and experience in mining operations including knowledge of mining laws and other laws governing mining on federal land; well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary and an ability to adapt and respond to changing conditions and demands.
