• Approximately 50% of smoking related deaths can be avoided if people quit by age 50.

• A major British report showed the years gained by quitting smoking at the following ages:
    - Age 60 - 3 years
    - Age 50 - 6 years
    - Age 40 - 9 years
    - Age 30 - 10 years
