Location: Four Mile Scenic Park is located on CR 1
between Florissant and Cripple Creek. On HWY 24 in Florissant, go east
on County Road 1 approximately 9 miles to the intersection of CR 1 and CR
11. Park is on the southeast corner.
Four Mile park consists of 6.9 acres at the junction of
Teller County Road #1 and Road #11 in SW Teller County. The park,
perfectly located on the Gold Belt
National Byway, features picnic areas and a
beautiful pedestrian bridge over historic Hay Creek. Information and
graphic interpretation focus on the rich agricultural history of the area.
The park is open throughout the year, and provides the perfect spot for a
picnic.
The park was opened on Saturday, May 29, 2004 with a grand
opening event including a special branding ceremony. Over 50 historic
brands from 4 Mile-area ranches are now memorialized on the bridge.
Funding
for the 4 Mile Park is from the Teller County Conservation Trust Fund and
a TEA-21 grant from the Colorado
Department of Transportation..
