Operations Division
11400 West Highway 24
Divide, CO

The men and women assigned to the Sheriff's Patrol
serve as the first responders to calls for service throughout Teller County.
In answering calls for service, the Patrol Deputy’s
primary duty is to conduct preliminary investigations, maintain order within the
community through the enforcement of state and local laws and to conduct
preventive patrols while developing positive community relations.
In addition to their regular duties several of the
Patrol Section Deputies are also members of other specialized units within
the Teller County Sheriff’s Office. The additional training requirements
necessary to be a member of these specialized units requires a tremendous
amount of dedication to both the Sheriff’s Office and the Community.
The Operations Division also includes
Communications Specialists that staff the Communications Center where 911
calls originate. The function of Communications is to satisfy the immediate
information needs of the Patrol Deputy's as well as other divisions in the
course of daily operations and during emergency situations.
The patrol section of the operations division
consists of two teams, which comprise of twenty two sworn deputies and ten
communications specialists. Of those teams, there are four Corporals and two
Sergeants. Both teams are collectively supervised by Operations Division
Commander, Bud Bright.
