Notices of Value (NOV)
You will receive a Notice of Value, also called an NOV, for each property
you own in Teller County. NOVs are mailed out on or about
May 1, in all reappraisal years (odd numbered years) OR in an (even numbered
year) if a property characteristic or classification has
While you are awaiting the arrival of your NOV, you may review your property
characteristics online to ensure that the information is accurate.
Should you discover information that is incorrect, please contact us.
Please do not wait for your NOV to arrive as it is important that the
information be corrected as soon as possible.
When your NOV arrives, be sure to review it.
You will note that it includes information, such as building style,
square footage, year built, bathroom count, and other information applicable
to your property. The NOV should
include any known changes to your property, but remember that the Assessor
can only consider information gathered during the data collection period.
For 2013, the data collection period is July 1, 2008 to
June 30, 2012 for residential property and July 1,
2007 to June 30, 2012 for commercial properties and vacant land..
Properties are re-appraised in odd-numbered years, for example - the value set for
2011, will be in effect for 2011 and 2012.

In order for your valuation to be correct, it is important that the

Most taxpayers will not receive a Notice of Value every year;
however, you may protest each May.
