Duties of the Department:

The Teller County Building Department is responsible for regulating building activities to ensure that residential and commercial structures comply with applicable building codes.  The Board of Review assists the Building Department by issuing contractors licenses, reviewing complaints against contractors, considering  requests for variances to the Universal Building Code, and mediating disputes between contractors, citizens, and the Building Department.  The Board of Review, which is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, is comprised of nine volunteers from the local construction industry.  They meet once each month.
