Teller County
seeks a Deputy Coroner. The Deputy
Coroner provides back-up for the Coroner; at the direction of the Coroner.
Responds to the scene of deceased persons; conducts investigations into the
cause and manner of death; writes reports and maintains documentation of
activities involved in death investigations; responsible for coordinating
removal of deceased body with relatives and/or mortuary and provides initial
instruction for care/maintaining the body as necessary for investigative
purposes; examines the decedent for postmortem changes and trauma. Minimum
qualifications: High School diploma or GED plus two years experience in a
medical setting or any combination of education and experience. Must have a
valid CO driver’s license and be able to maintain confidentiality. Associates
degree in Mammalian Biological or Medical Sciences preferred. Must have the
ability to respond 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by phone as needed. Paid

Teller County is accepting applications for a Detention Officer.
Responsible for performing duties related to enforce Federal, State and County
laws and ordinances in conjunction with processing and care of prisoners;
process inmates into and on release from the jail; monitor and respond to inmate
and staff needs; work in control room and control alarms and access to and from
the jail and inmates; and observe inmates in cells and wards and staff in jail.
Applicant must be in excellent physical condition to lift and carry 100 pounds;
move and/or restrain person(s). Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or
GED plus some experience involving public contact. Requirements: CPR certified
or the ability to become certified. Certification as a Police Officer by the
state of Colorado is desirable, but not required. Salary $2,566 -
$2,851/monthly plus a full benefit package (DOQ).

seeks a Dispatcher for the Sheriff’s Office. Receives and responds to
telephone and radio requests for officer assistance and information; receive and
dispatch radio messages to all units (to include, but not limited to: Patrol,
Code Enforcement, Division of Gaming, Division of Wildlife, U.S. Forest Service,
Colorado State Parks, Animal Control, Fire Departments, Ambulances, Emergency
Medical Services as well as other agencies) when on the County frequency.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED plus one year of office work involving
public contact, or equivalent. Training in team leadership and law enforcement
is desirable. Must have ability to clear polygraph test and criminal background
check; Certified for, or ability to obtain the following Colorado Crime
Information, NCIC, CPR and EMD Certificates. Starting salary: $2,305 - $2,561
