Applicants Must Follow These Instructions

Teller County applications are available at the Teller County Human Resource Office, 112 North A Street, P.O. Box 959, Cripple Creek, 80813, or by clicking on the above link “Job Application Form”. This form can be printed and submitted using the instructions below.

    • Applications that are not completed clearly and/or are not signed and dated may not receive consideration.
    • Applications will be kept for a period of one (1) year from the date application is received.
    • During that one year period an applicant can call Human Resources at (719) 689-2988, or email Human Resources and ask that their application be included
       for consideration for the desired open position.
    • The County will not be responsible for applications left in other County offices with the understanding that they will be forwarded to the HR office.

listed address or in person to the above listed address.

Job Description: Teller County seeks a Staff Appraiser for the Assessor’s Office. This position is responsible for performing field inspections; conducting appraisals for residential and vacant land; handling various administrative functions in the appraisal division; assisting in statistical analysis and ratio studies; defending appraisal before taxpayers; process and provide support for abatement petitions for residential and vacant land properties. Must have knowledge of techniques and procedures used in property appraisal; ability to perform and review complex mathematical and statistical calculations; ability to prepare detailed records, reports and correspondence; and ability to work effectively with the public and public officials. Job Description: Under direct supervision, determine initial and continuing eligibility for food stamps, all categories of public assistance and Medicaid. Gather, assemble and review information supplied by applicants and recipients regarding financial and non-financial criteria relevant to food stamp eligibility, financial assistance and/or medical assistance. This position requires the ability to learn and apply complex government rules/policies; counsel clients, prioritize, problem solve, seek alternative solutions; ability to enter data, maintain files, and working knowledge of computers.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED plus three (3) years working with the public or any combination of education and experience, and familiarity with CBMS system (Bachelor degree in human services field preferred). Requirements: Ability to clear/pass CBI and/or FBI background checks and must have a valid CO driver’s license.
