The Vital Records Department is responsible for issuing birth and death certificates. The department is also responsible for reporting all Marriage and Civil Union Licenses issued in Teller to the State of Colorado.

Teller County Birth and Death records cover Cripple Creek, Elkton, Anaconda, Lawrence, Florissant, Gillette, Goldfield, Victor, Divide, Woodland Park and some areas of Green Mountain Falls. Birth and Death records were not required in Colorado until 1910 but some records are available as early as 1876.

Historical death certificates are only available in the county of death. All requests must be handled though the Clerk and Recorder's Office in Cripple Creek.

From 1910 to the present, electronic copies of birth and death certificates for any Colorado county may be obtained through this office.

Birth Certificate Application Info
The cost of the first certified copy of a birth certificate is $20.00.  Additional certified copies ordered at the same time for the same record will be $13.00 each. All requests must be submitted with this application:

Along with the completed application, a copy of identification must be included.

Death Certificate Application Info
The cost of a death certificate is $20.00. Additional certificates ordered at the same time will be $13.00 each. All requests must be submitted with this application:
